"TV is an intimate, powerful, and universal source of connection to others. Talking about our favorite shows and movies brings us closer to people near and far. So, what would happen if we couldn’t talk about it?"

10 years ago, I was directing the TV program I Love Rock & Roll I keep many lovely memories of that experience. Grande Michele. Twenty years ago sadly my dear friend and colleague Michele Cavazzuti passed away.
We shared intense and unforgettable moments during the filming of the TV program "Ospedale in diretta", set in Sant'Orsola Hospital in Bologna 1998. Michele was so talented, a twenty-five-year-old boy with a natural attitude to engage with people. He was cheerful, optimistic, sensitive. My love and esteem toward him will remain unaltered forever. Great Michael. Known for his sympathies towards anarchism, libertarism and pacifism, his songs often featured marginalized and rebellious people, gypsies, prostitutes and knaves, and attacked the Catholic Church hierarchy hypocrisies. Artistically active for almost 40 years and the author of thirteen studio albums, he is renowned for the quality of his lyrics and often considered a poet. Faber, directed by Bruno Bigoni and Romano Giuffrida, recreates with great intensity the artistic career of De André. The film shows places and friends that have marked his life and his poetry. As background to his voice unforgettable sceneries, Sardinia dell'Agnata, the narrow alleys of Genoa, Milan and its postmodern contradictions. And then the sounds of the earth, the words, the emotions and memories of those who knew him. “L’omaggio più significativo a Fabrizio De André.” – Aldo Grasso Corriere della Sera "The most significant tribute to Fabrizio De André." – Antonio Dipollina la Repubblica "That Faber is a must see." - Antonio Dipollina la Repubblica Italians hail poet-singer's rebel legacy by Tom Kington www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/18/italy-fabrizio-de-andre ‘Stolen Motherhood’
This short film I shot and directed is about a case of a 'stolen motherhood', which took place in Milan, in the 1970's, documenting the true events of a baby being taken from her mother without her knowledge. Women was a TV program, produced and broadcast by RAIDUE in 2007. |
